Learn to adopt a Growth Mindset
Carole Dweck’s concept of Growth Mindset- the belief that we are not born with a fixed set of qualities, but rather, can develop abilities over time. This mindset helps us shift away from self judgment and embrace setbacks as opportunity ,and build confidence through effort rather than perfection.
Mobilize internal motivation
Using psychologists William Miller and Stephen Rollnick’s Motivational Interviewing, discover your own reasons for change. This is a communication style built on partnership, acceptance, compassion, and empowerment to strengthen one’s own commitment to growth.
Rooted in Positive Psychology
Drawing from Martin Seligman’s theory of Positive Psychology, cultivate long lasting wellbeing through focusing on actions that utilize your strengths and align with your purpose and values. Leverage the power of positive emotions, strong relationships, and meaningful activities.
Individualized approach
We all have a unique combination of strengths, values, and desires, therefore, we all need a plan that suits our individual needs- there is no one-size-fits all plan. Together, we design a plan that is uniquely your own, and owned by you. After all, you’re your own best resource.
Hi, I’m Ellyn- pharmacist, Mayo Clinic trained health and wellness coach, and founder of Monarch Mindset. My career in healthcare began with medications and a complete fascination how microscopic molecules can produce profound effects on the body. Overtime, in my pharmacy practice, I became deeply curious about the story of individual people rather than what’s on their health records and med list. There’s a deeper story- how do we use our time, what do we care about, why we do what we do, and how do we strengthen our bodies to live the life we want?
In our sessions, we will explore this and more. My approach draws from Carole Dweck’s concept of Growth Mindset- the belief that people can develop their abilities, and focus on efforts put forth in the process. I also utilize William Miller and Stephen Rollnick’s Motivational Interviewing- a style of communication utilizing partnership, acceptance, compassion and empowerment to promote change and growth. Lastly, Martin Seligman’s Positive Psychology helps us to discover ways to cultivate happiness and meaning by accomplishing hard things through utilizing our strengths, connection with others, finding meaning and gratitude.
